The beavers are actively enhancing the wetland habitat by flooding them and expanding the wetland areas, but the road flooding was a big issue that needed remediation. These wetlands provided the optimal location for a beaver dam, and a pair of beavers colonized the site. The property sits on Long Green Creek and adjacent to the stream Ecotone had created 8.3 acres of wetlands. In early 2018, the landowners of Boordy Vineyards contacted Ecotone after having problems with beaver flooding the road near their home.
